Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Bihar minister and RJD leader Veena Shahi on Friday joined BJP at the party headquarters in the presence of former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and the state party chief, Mangal Pandey.

After joining the party she wished to see that Narendra Modi become the Prime Minister of the country.

Shahi is the widow of former Congress MLA Hemant Shahi and daughter-in-law of former Union minister L P Shahi.

As the Congress MLA she served as a minister in the Rabri Devi cabinet between 2000 and 2005.
On the eve of 2010 Assembly election she joined the RJD.
