Patna,(BiharTimes): The doctors of the Patna Medical College and Hosptial would go on strike from November 6 to press for the early recovery of Dr Vijay Krishna, who has been missing since October 19 last. The doctors fear that he has been abducted and the police have been doing nothing to recover him.
However, the principal of the College criticized the decision of the doctors to go on strike.
This would be the first such strike by doctors of the hospital after the chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi took action against some of them, including the superintendent of PMCH after the Oct 3 stampede at Gandhi Maidan. In East Champaran he went to the extent of saying that the hands of errant doctors would be chopped off.
However, the chief minister clarified his statement by stating that it was used as a proverb and the government withdrew its order after the doctors’ associations threatened to go on strike. The doctors’ bodies too assured the state government of full cooperation.
