Patna, Nov 19 (IANS) JD-U president Sharad Yadav Wednesday said moves were on to unite all constituents of the "Janata Parivar" to form a major political party to take on the Narendra Modi government.
"Work has begun and we are hopeful of a positive result," the Janata Dal-United leader told the media here.
"Something may come out soon. There is a need for strong unity among secular and democratic forces."
The development comes four months after former chief ministers Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar joined hands in Bihar, and days after leaders of the Samajwadi Party, JD-U, RJD and Janata Dal-Secular announced a united front in parliament.
