We provided electricity, but BJP walked away with votes: Nitish
Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Sunday that while his government provided electricity to the people of the state it was the Bharatiya Janata Party, which walked away with the votes.
Addressing party workers during his Sampark Yatra in Supaul he gave credit to the local party leader and minister in Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet, Bijendra Yadav, for the good power supply in the district. Bijendra, who was present in the meeting, was electricity minister in the Nitish cabinet.
“We were aware of the results of the Lok Sabha election, but we did not make any compromise. They succeeded in spreading rumours and won the election and enjoying power in Delhi,” he said.
He said he had a feeling that some of the partymen did not put in their best efforts in the election and adopted pessimistic approach.
“We created an atmosphere of amity and peace, but they (the BJP) spread hatred and animosity all over the country,” he added.
Party’s national president Sharad Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
