Patna,(BiharTimes): A week after governor sought report on law and order situation chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi called on Keshri Nath Tripathi at Raj Bhavan early on Saturday. The meeting lasted for half an hour.
Reports suggest that the law and order and political situation in the state come up during the discussion, though officials said that it was just a courtesy call.Manjhi reportedly apprised Tripathi, who is holding additional charge of Bihar and is in Patna these days, about the steps taken by the government to maintain social and communal harmony in the state following the January 18 violence at Azizpur village in Muzaffarpur district and January 23 bomb blast on Ara civil court premises.
The meeting sparked off speculations because of the wordy duels going on between the two factions of the Janata Dal (United)—one led by Manjhi and other by former CM Nitish Kumar. The state government had already sent its reply to the letter sent by Raj Bhawan on January 23.
