Patna,(BiharTimes): To help the beneficiaries buy foodgrains from any PDS outlets with ATM like biometric cards the state government is planning to instal Point of Sale (PoS) machines at the public distribution system (PDS) shops all over Bihar.

According to Food Minister of Bihar, Shyam Rajak, by using this technique in PDS outlets Bihar will move a step forward towards development. He further added that the PoS machines will be attached to a central network.

He said the beneficiaries would be issued smart cards from the banks that would have the biometric data of all the beneficiaries. A chip would be installed in this smart ration card that would contain details of family-members and would be recognised by the machine only.
