Talks fail, Manjhi cabinet recommends dissolution of Assembly
Patna,(BiharTimes): After the failure of talks between chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and former chief minister Nitish Kumar, the state cabinet on Saturday afternoon recommended the dissolution of the State Assembly.
The resolution was moved by agriculture minister Narendra Singh and seven of his ministers of the cabinet okayed it.The rest of the ministers refused to support and walked out. They marched towards the Raj Bhawan.In all there were 31 ministers in the Manjhi cabinet. A few minutes before the governor had accepted the recommendation of the CM to sack two ministers: Lallan Singh and P K Shahi.
Earlier, in the day a high-level meeting was held in the residence of Nitish, in which Manjhi, Nitish Kumar, JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav, state party chief Vashistha Narayan Singh were present.
Those also present in the meeting were Narendra Singh, Brishen Patel and Bijendra Yadav all ministers.Party Secretary General K C Tyagi was not present in this two-hour long meeting.
