BJP stands exposed, says Nitish

Patna,(BiharTimes): The newly-elected leader of the Janata Dal (United) Legislature Party, Nitish Kumar, on Saturday squarely held the Bharatiya Janata Party responsible for what happened in Bihar in the last few weeks.

Addressing the MLAs and MLCs of his party after getting elected as the leader he said that the Bharatiya Janata Party today stands exposed as it has failed in its design. He asked as to what has happened to the tall claim of large number of MLAs siding with the saffron party. Nitish narrated the whole chain of events which took place in Bihar ever since the Rajya Sabha election last June, in which, according to him, a handful of MLAs of his party played into the hands of the BJP. They even became the election agent of the BJP-backed rebel candidates.

He alleged as to how money power played its role throughout in the last few months.Hitting out at chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s repeated statement he said that people used to come to him with a request to intervene as the law and order has collapsed but he never did so.In a vieled warning to Manjhi, he said that he can even parade his supporters.

He said as to how on Jan 15, when he was sick, talks were held with Manjhi. Even party chief Sharad Yadav and Lalu Prasad were present on the occasion.“We took into account all the issues, including the challenge from the BJP in the meeting,” he said adding that he was not at all prepared to take the charge again. It is the BJP, which created such a situation.

Nitish said social engineering would not work if law and order is not good.According to him Sharad Yadav took the initiative, when things went out of control. Repeated requests were made to him to attend the Legislature Party meeting but Manjhi did not agree.

He said a government runs with the the support of the MLAs.“I held talks with Manjhiji, Narendra Singh, Brishen Patel and others but to no avail. I asked as to why was cabinet meeting called. It was said that to dissolve the Assembly. How can the party be bypassed,” Nitish asked. He further asked as to why the BJP is so eager to get the House dissolved. If dissolution of House was in CM’s hand than why call the cabinet meeting.Stating that what had happened was not good for democracy Nitish promised development of Bihar and also assured that law and order would be restored.
