JD(U) demands filing of case against CM for his ‘commission’  remarks

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Janata Dal (United) spokesman Neeraj  Kumar on Friday urged the police to lodge a case against chief  minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for his statement given on Thursday  in which he said that he had been accepting commission from  engineers and contractors in government projects.

Addressing a conference of the non-government teachers and  non-teaching staff association in Gandhi Maidan he conceded  that he used to get commission from contractors and engineers. He said more money is spent on the construction of pillars  than the bridge and added that he used to get commission from  the engineers and contractors involved.

The CM also sadi that from now he would not take commission;  instead he would divert that amount for welfare of teachers  and citizens in the state.

Manjhi alleged that attempts are being made to remove him  since he had “tried to check corruption. He said that Rs 100  crore are being earmarked for the project, which would cost  only one or two crores.

A day later JD(U) flayed his remarks and sought legal action  against him. Even the state party chief Vashistha Narayan  Singh said that it does not behove a person sitting at a high  position to make such a remarks.
