Manjhi cabinet hikes MLAs fund, quota for women in jobs
Patna,(BiharTimes): In its last cabinet meeting before the floor-testing on February 20 the Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet on Wednesday night took some major decisions related to the hike in MLA fund and reservation for women in jobs.It decided to hike MLA development fund from the present Rs two crore in a year to Rs three crore from the next financial year.
It also decided to reserve 35 per cent seats for women in government jobs for non-gazetted employees in group C and D grade.
According to the Special Secretary of State Cabinet Coordination department Vijay Kumar Dwivedi the cabinet gave its approval to a proposal to pay 13 months salary in place of 12 months to policemen upto inspector rank. For home guards, it enhanced the daily wage from Rs 300 to Rs 400.The cabinet also gave its nod to recommend to the Centre to pay an additional Rs 1,000 per month to cook engaged under mid-day meal scheme in schools.
The cabinet decided in principle to enhance payment for agricultural advisors from Rs 6,000 per month to Rs 7,000 per month.Besides, a decision was taken to replace Advocate General Ram Balak Mahto with Binod Kumar Kanth.
Altogether 19 agendas were taken up during the meeting.Earlier in the day, the Patna High Court modified its February 16 ruling and allowed the cabinet to take decision but ordered that it could be implemented only after the Manjhi government proves majority on the floor of the House on February 20.
