22/02/2015 Narendra Modi congratulated me, will meet him for the sake of Bihar: Nitish |
Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar said that he would certainly meet prime minister Narendra Modi for the sake of development of Bihar and would surely seek his attention for the special status to the state. Nitish said that Narendra Modi tweeted him to congratulate him for becoming the chief minister and that he in return thanked the prime minister. Addressing a Press conference after taking oath as the chief minister for the fourth time on Sunday evening he said that he had invited the allies to join the government but the RJD and Congress had said that though they are solidly behind him they had not taken any decision to join the cabinet. However, Nitish added that the cabinet would be expanded after the Budget session of the state Asssembly. He thanked Congress president Sonia Gandhi too for sending her greetings to him.Nitish was grateful to the chief ministers of, what he said “three eastern states”, UP, West Bengal and Assam for attending the oath-taking ceremony. In the same vein he talked about the neglect of the eastern states. He said that he is for the development of the country, but the backward states should be given priority. To a question about any prospect of forming political block with the chief ministers of West Bengal and Odisha he said it would be pre-mature to say any such thing now. But, yes there is every prospect of forming economic block with these states. He even mentioned about the presence of the former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi. Nitish expects full cooperation from the Centre and said he too is ready to go to any extent for the cause of Bihar. He repeatedly said that political differences should not come in the way of development. The chief minister said that it is not possible to run the government with pre-conceived notion and prejudice. He was quite obliged to RJD chief Lalu Prasad who rang him up on Friday and even today as he could not come to Patna for obvious reasons (his daughter’s marriage). comments powered by Disqus | |
