Hunkar Rally blasts: NIA frames charges against 11
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Special Court of Anil Kumar Singh of
National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday framed charges
against 11 accused for the serial blasts at the then Gujarat
chief minister Narendra Modi’s October 27, 2013 Hunkar Rally
at Gandhi Maidan in Patna.
Half a dozen persons were killed and 89 injured in the serial
blasts. Thus the process of prosecution of the accused, all
alleged to be the members of SIMI and Indian Mujahideen, has
started.
The Special Judge also directed the prosecution to produce
witnesses from January 19 onwards.
Charges were framed against Umar Siddiqui and Azharuddin
Queshi from Chhattisgarh, Ahmad Hussain and Fakkruddin, both
from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh, Haidar Ali alias Black
Beauty, Numan Ansari, Mohammed Mujibullah Ansari, Mohammed
Firoz Aslam, Mohammed Ifteqaar Alam, Taufiq Ansari and a
juvenile are from Ranchi in Jharkhand.
Charges including for murder, criminal conspiracy have been
framed against them under Sections 109, 120B, 121, 171A, 302,
324, 326, 360, 441 and 468 of the Indian Penal Code, Unlawful
Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Explosives Substances Act,
and various section of Criminal Law Act.
The NIA has already filed charge-sheet in the case, It
alleged that Haider Ali, who was suspected to be SIMI in-
charge of Jharkhand, conspired with others to target Modi.
Haider is also an accused in Bodh Gaya serial blasts in July,
2013.
The charge-sheet said that the accused wanted to target Modi
as they thought it would be inimical to their interests if he
became the Prime Minister.
