Patna,(BiharTimes): The Jitan Ram Manjhi cabinet approved a government decision to exempt Hindi movie, ‘pk’, from entertainment tax with retrospective effect from January 2 this year. In all 21 decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting. A decision was taken to set up sewerage treatment plants at two places in Patna––Beur and Karmalichak––at the cost of Rs 158.26 crore. These World Bank-aided plants would ensure discharge of only treated sewerage into Ganga. The cabinet also gave its nod of Rs 79.49 crore for construction of overhead water tanks in 6,631 primary and middle schools. A sum of Rs 258.68 crore was approved for the installation of 55,228 hand pumps under the Mukhyamantri Chapakal Yojana in the current financial year. These hand pumps would be installed on the recommendation of legislators. Five hand pumps would be installed in each panchayat, three
in each urban municipal corporation ward, two each in nagar
parishad ward and one each in nagar panchayat ward.
The cabinet also gave green signal to the creation of 217
posts of gazetted and non- gazetted officers in the office of
state Lokayukta. Creation of a separate cadre of rural
development officers of gazetted rank was also approved by
the cabinet on Tuesday.
