Shakuni Chaudhary questions merger of JD(U) with parties of
Janata Parivar
Patna,(BiharTimes): Janata Dal (United) leader Shakuni
Chaudhary on Wednesday questioned the very process of Janata
Dal (United) merging with the Rashtriya Janata Dal.
Talking to the media after the “dahi-chura” party organized
by the state Janata Dal (United) chief Vashistha Narayan
Singh he said that instead of gearing up to fight the battle
on its own the Janata Dal (United) sometimes goes with the
BJP and sometimes with RJD. This is the sign of weakness. “Hum log yudh ke tayari mein nahin hain, milan ki tiyari mein
hain” (We are not gearing up for battle but for merger), he
said adding “bhagne wala fauj kabhi lad nahin sakta (the army
which runs away can not fight).
“I think that the JD(U) should stand on its own and wage its
battle,” Shakuni, who is an ex-serviceman and fought the 1962
war against China, said.
He said that he failed to understand as to why Nitish is
going to Lalu and Lalu to Mulayam and Mulayam to all the
places in the country.
Incidentally, his son, Samrat, is urban development and
housing department minister in the Jitan Ram Manjhi
government. He crossed over from the RJD to join JD(United)
on the eve of Lok Sabha election.
