Patna,(BiharTimes): Departing from his past stand senior BJP
leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday said that his party has
left all its options open in dealing with the emerging
political situation in the state, especially involving chief
minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.
Talking to the media on the occasion of feast hosted by him
for journalists and some senior BJP office-bearers he said
that all options are open. (“saare vikalp khule hain); but
hastened to add that his party had not received any proposal
from Manjhi.
SuMo, however, added that all such major decisions are taken by the parliamentary board of the BJP.
Stating that his party is closely watching the political
developments in the state he hinted that the saffron party is
ready to support the Manjhi government if it faces any
crisis.
Unlike Dr C P Thakur and other party leaders––who always
wanted to have close relationship with Manjhi––the former
Bihar deputy chief minister used to criticize both Manjhi and
Nitish Kumar at the same time. He would repeatedly blame both
for the present state of affairs in the state.
Analysts are of the view that this is simply because SuMo
fears that if Manjhi crosses over to the BJP camp he would
automatically be the chief minister’s choice. In that case
Sushil Modi himself may not get the opportunity of becoming
CM.
But on Thursday he took an entirely different line. Perhaps
the party central leadership is keen to win over Manjhi, who
has on a couple of occasions indirectly praised prime minister Narendra Modi.
