Pappu Yadav backs Manjhi, asks BJP not to fish in troubled
waters of JD(U)
Patna,(BiharTimes): Accusing the BJP, especially its leader
Sushil Kumar Modi, of fishing in the troubled waters of the
Janata Dal (United) Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Pappu Yadav on
Sunday said that no effort whatsoever should be made to
disturb chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi till the next
Assembly election. In the same breath he added that it would
not be wrong if Nitish Kumar is made the chief minister once
again after the election.
Talking to the media he asked the RJD leadership to name a
Muslim as the deputy chief minister if any such proposals are
under consideration. He even suggested the name of the leader
of RJD in the state Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui.
Pappu urged JD(U) leaders Nitish Kumar and Sharad Yadav to
come forward and rein in the party spokesmen.
If this is not done immediately and Manjhi is removed from
his post the new merged party would have to pay a heavy price
in the next Assembly election, he warned.
“How can they (JD-U leadership) challenge through spokesmen.
They should rather come out openly to say something, Pappu
said adding that the national president of both the parties
(Sharad and Lalu Prasad) should sit and sort out the
problem..
Pappu directly held the BJP responsible for the present
political crisis in the JD(U). He said that the saffron
party, in particular Sushil Modi, wants to weaken the forces
of social justice so that his party come to power in Bihar.
This would not be allowed.
Food minister Shyam Rajak, a Mahadalit and till now a Nitish-
loyalist, also said that the BJP should not be in ‘mugalte’
(in the world of dream) that the present situation would help
it. He said that the JD(U) is as strong as ever under the
leadership of Nitish Kumar and chief ministership of Jitan
Ram Manjhi.
However, Janata Dal (United) spokesman, Neeraj Kumar, asked
Pappu Yadav not to interfere in his party’s affairs and
concentrate within his own party.
Hinting at Pappu’s past he said that the Janata Dal (United)
government under Nitish Kumar established a rule of law and
no interference would be tolerated.
