Nitish condemns communal riots, says no question of removing
Manjhi
Patna,(BiharTimes): Stating that there is no question of
removing chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi from his post,
former chief minister Nitish Kumar strongly condemned the
communal riots in Azizpur village of Muzaffarpur district.
“We held talks with people of both the sides to re-establish
love and harmony. I held talks with chief secretary, DGP,
other officials and various people belonging to Hindu and
Muslim communities. They have all been pressed into service,”
he told the mediapersons on Monday.
He termed the incident as unfortunate and tragic and appealed
to the people to maintain peace.
Distancing himself from the statements given by the two JD(U)
spokesmen, Nitish categorically stated that there was no such
plan to replace Jitan Ram Manjhi.
He asked party leaders not to cross ‘seema’ (limit) while
speaking. “There is no need to speak much though in democracy
there is right to speak,” he added.
“I sacrificed (tyag) my post taking full responsibility (of
the electoral defeat) and handed over the responsibility to
Manjhiji. I do not see much. Now everyone should do their
works responsibly,” he added.
The senior JD(U) leader accuse the BJP of spreading lies
about him and Manjhi. “They (the BJP leaders) say that I am
running the government from remote, but at the same time they
say that I want to remove Manjhi. Which is true. I know about
split personality in a person, but here the whole party is
suffering from split personality,” he said.
“All their plans have been exposed and they would not
succeed,” Nitish said
Interestingy, while Nitish was counselling his partymen not
to cross limit his spokesmen Ajay Alok on Monday once again
attacked the ministers who are reportedly backing Manjhi.
\However, he added that Narendra Singh had clarified his
position and held talks with the party leadership but Brishen
Patel and Nitish Mishra are still busy giving statements.
