Patna,(BiharTimes): Union minister of state for drinking water Ram Kripal Yadav here on Tuesday called on chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi.Though the meeting was stated to be official it sparked off speculation because it came only five days after Manjhi’s meeting with Sadhu Yadav, who too is considered close to the BJP.
Manjhi was scheduled to meet prime minister Narendra Modi today, that is on Tuesday, but due to communal riots in Muzaffarpur village he had to rush back from Mumbai on Monday itself. Thus Ram Kripal’s meeting with Manjhi was sudden and had no prior programme.Ram Kripal tried to underplay the meeting by stating that the issues related to the development of the state were discussed. He said that the chief minister was told that Bihar is not spending its quota of fund allotted by the Union government for clean drinking water. On Muzaffarpur riots he said that he hoped that the chief minister would definitely take action against those involved in violence.
However, when the mediapersons repeatedly asked whether politics too was discussed he said that when politicians meet some issues related to politics do come in discussion. He said that he had old relationship with Manjhi as once they were in the same party. It seems that the BJP is using the service of two Yadavs––Sadhu and Ram Kripal––to open its channel with the chief minister.
