Governor seeks report on deteriorating law & order, asks CM to monitor
Patna,(BiharTimes): Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi has sought report from the state government on deteriorating law and order situation in Bihar and has asked chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi to monitor the situation and send reply.
According to reports Tripathi, who is governor of West Bengal and holding additional charge of Bihar, had sent this letter to the chief minister on January 23, but the state government had not yet sent any reply.
Raising the issue of Azizpur riots the governor had asked the state government as to how a young boy was abducted and killed and what steps the state government had taken in this case. The Raj Bhawan had also asked as to what was the government doing after the abduction and before the recovery of body.
It had asked as to how is it that the FIR had been lodged against thousands of unnamed persons after the riots. Is not it that the police is harassing and arresting innocent people in the name of their alleged involvement in violence?
The governor has also asked as to how the blast took place in Ara court after a similar explosion in 2009 in which a lawyer was killed. What security arrangement had the state government taken between the two incidents?
The governor had also raised concern over the deterioration in law and order situation in the state. The report also raised the issue of the killing of a Janata Dal (United) leader in Nalanda district.He had urged the chief minister to personally monitor the law and order situation and report to the Raj Bhawan.This is the first time in so many years that any governor of Bihar has sought report on the law and order situation.
