Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar Police Association and Bihar Policemen Association have strongly protested the Nitish government’s decision to rescind the decision taken by the then Jitan Ram Manjhi government on their salary.
The Manjhi cabinet last month had decided to pay 13 months salary to the policemen from the rank of constable to inspector. But the Nitish Kumar cabinet on March 4 decided to annual all the decisions taken by the previous government in the last three cabinet meetings.
The two police associations have given March 27 as the deadline for the fulfilment of their demands. The president of Bihar Police Association Mritunjay Singh said that the decicison is unfortunate and that too on the eve of the colour of Holi.
Both the Associations would join hands in this regard. Singh said that police and family members would not celebrate Holi on Friday though they would perform their duties. They said that they have nothing to do with the political tussle between Manjhi and Nitish Kumar. Thirteen months salary was the long-pending demand which was to be fulfilled by any government who comes to power, the leaders said.
