Centre again seeks report on Kuldeep Narayan’s suspension
Patna,(BiharTimes): The Union government has again sought a detailed report from the Bihar government on suspension of the Commissioner of Patna Municipal Corporation, Kuldeep Narayan.Kuldeep, a 2005 batch IAS officer, was suspended by the then Jitan Ram Manjhi government in December last, allegedly under pressure of builders said to be close to the ruling JD(U) as well as the BJP.
Incidentally, the suspension could not be revoked even though Manjhi had assured a delegation of an IAS Association that he would do so soon. Though the former chief minister had flayed Nitish Kumar on a number of issues he had said nothing on the issue of Kuldeep’s suspension.
Political observers are of the view that this shows the strong clout of the builders, which definitely cross the party lines. Now reports from New Delhi said that the Ministry of Personnel has sought a report from Bihar government on his suspension. This is the second such explanation sought from the state government after it failed to give satisfactory reply in the past.
