HC bench observation on huge expenditure on Bihar Museum
Patna,(BiharTimes): A division bench of Patna high court on Thursday observed there should be an investigation into the huge expenditure on the construction of a world-class Bihar Museum on Bailey Road in Patna.
Hearing on Public Interest Litigation (PIL) the bench comprising Chief Justice L Narasimha Reddy and Justice Vikas Jain, said while the residents of the state capital are living in unhygienic conditions and not provided basic amenities, the state government has chosen to launch a project for construction of an international museum.
In the PIL Ashok Kumar, who fied the petition, wondered how the existing notified museum has been neglected and public money is being wasted on this new project. The total cost of the project is Rs 498.49 crore and was scheduled to be completed by March 2015. But now it will be completed by July, 2015.
