Patna,(BiharTimes): The Minister for Social Justice and Disaster Management in the Nitish Kumar cabinet, Lessi Singh, fainted while observing protest fast against the Narendra Modi government’s Land Acquisition Bill in Purnea on Saturday.

She was rushed to the Sadar Hospital in Purnea, where her condition is out of danger.According to Civil Surgeon, Purnea, Dr S N Jha, the minister was out of danger, but was still in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

He said the minister fainted because of gastro problems and shooting up of blood pressure due to the fast. She has been advised a week rest. JD(U) has organized a 24-hour fast in all the blocks and district headquarters of Bihar.
