Patna,(BiharTimes): The last rites of Prof Hetukar Jha, who passed away in Patna on Saturday (August 19) evening was performed at his native village Sarisav Pahi in Madhubani district on Suday.
He was 73.
Born on March 5, 1944 he joined Patna University as a lecturer of Sociology in 1968 and retired as Professor and Head of Department in 2004.
As the Honorary Managing Trusterr of Maharaja Kameshwar Singh Kalyani Foundation, Darbhanga, Prof Jha arranged lectuers of nationally and internationally acclaimed scholars at Darbhanga under Maharaja Kameshwar Singh Lecture Series.
Jha studied in his village school and got BA Honours in Sociology from Patna University in 1965 and MA from the same university in 1967.
His researchinterests included Historial Sociology, Social Classifcation and workd related to heritage of Bihar.
