Nitish Kumar interacts with Bihari diaspora settled in USA

Patna, Jan 16: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday exhorted those settled in North America to help in industrialisation of the state and assured to offer land and other infrastructural facilities to investors for setting up industrial units.

Kumar during virtual interaction with diaspora from Bihar under the auspices of Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America, said that his government had improved considerably basic infrastructural facilities in Bihar during the last 15 years. Good quality roads and power had been ensured following sustained efforts of his government during this period while the state was blessed with vast water resources, he added.

" I invite you for investment and assistance for setting up industries in Bihar for accelerating the pace of development", Chief Minister said adding that state government would provide land and other infrastructural facilities to investors interested in setting up industries in Bihar. Proposals for investment to set up industries would be approved within shortest possible time, taking care of investors, he added.

All the requirements in terms of roads, power and infrastructure have been met. There would be time-bound clearance of proposals. Even land allotment policy through Bihar industrial area development authority (BIADA) has been simplified,” he said

Kumar said It was most heartening to note that those settled abroad, having roots in Bihar, were thinking to do something better for their home state. He invited a delegation of diaspora of Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America to visit the state and see themselves, the kind of changes that had taken place in last 15 years.

"Bihar government willmake arrangements for taking the delegation to any place in the state as per their wishes", Chief Minister said adding that they would feel better visiting visiting Bihar and experiencing the positive changes taking place even in villages.

His government had taken several measures to protect environment and minimise the effect of climate change, he said adding that even Bill Gates had appreciated the efforts of the government during his visit to Bihar.

Kumar assured the diaspora that a special cell would be constituted in CM secretariat to ensure regular interaction of officials with diaspora from Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America. Suggestions and views emerged during the interaction would be given due importance by the state government and follow up action would be taken accordingly.

He would also remain present during some of the such interactions without prior informed, he said with a smile.

Chief secretary Deepak Kumar had earlier said that the government would provide nearly 50% subsidy on land cost and there was around 450-acres of land available at 68 locations for the purpose of industries. He also made an offer to the NRIs to explore the possibility of a tie-up with Bihar government’s public sector undertakings to get things done more easily.
