
Buxar, Bihar: In a major boost to Bihar's industrial and infrastructure landscape, JK Cement Ltd. on Saturday inaugurated its state-of-the-art Grey Cement Grinding Unit in Buxar in a grand ceremony attended by top state leadership.
The plant was formally inaugurated by Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, under the guidance of Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar. The event was graced by Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Minister for Industries and Road Construction, and Nidhipati Singhania, Vice Chairman of JK Cement.
Spread over 100 acres along the strategically located Patna–Buxar highway, the newly commissioned facility has a production capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The unit is expected to significantly enhance the availability of high-quality cement across Bihar and neighbouring regions, ensuring faster and more efficient supply for ongoing and upcoming infrastructure projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary said the establishment of large-scale manufacturing units like this one reflects growing investor confidence in Bihar. He noted that such investments would create employment opportunities, strengthen the state's industrial base and support the government's focus on infrastructure-led growth.
Industry Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal highlighted that the state government has been actively promoting industrial development through policy support, improved connectivity and streamlined approvals. He said the Buxar unit would contribute to the expansion of road networks, housing projects and other critical infrastructure initiatives.
Dr. Nidhipati Singhania reiterated JK Cement's long-term commitment to Bihar, stating that localized manufacturing would ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency and consistent product quality. He emphasized that the company aims to be a strong partner in Bihar's development journey.
The commissioning of the Buxar grinding unit marks a significant milestone for JK Cement's eastern India expansion strategy. With rising demand driven by urbanization, rural housing, highways and public infrastructure projects, the plant is expected to play a key role in supporting the state's growth trajectory.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of senior officials, industry representatives and local stakeholders, underscoring the importance of the project for both the company and the state.
