| | Patna, (Bihar Times): Seven criminals, including the
gang-leader, Sattan Chaudhary, were gunned down in an
encounter with police near Dhamara in Khagaria
district on Friday. They were all wanted in several
cases of murder, dacoity, attack on police and
extortion.
According to the superintendent of police, Vineet
Vinayak, the police raided their hideout at 1:00 am
following a tip off. When the criminals got the hint
of the arrival of police party they opened fire on
them. However, in the ensuing encounter which lasted
till the morning and in which criminals even used
explosive seven criminals were killed.
Two rifles looted from police, two country-made
pistols and a large amount of ammunition were
recovered from them.
