Patna (Bihar Times): Meena Singh, widow of late Janata
Dal (United) MP, Ajit Kumar Singh, will be the party’s
candidate for the December 29 by-election for
Bikramganj parliamentary seat. This was announced by
the party president, Sharad Yadav, in Delhi on Monday.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, while talking to
mediapersons at Janata Darbar also made the similar
disclosure.
Ajit Singh, who was also the chairman of Nafed, met
with an accident in Siwan last August.The chief
minister said that Meena was elected party’s candidate
on the recommendation of the local unit and JD(U) and
MLAs from the constituency. He hoped that the party
would win the election comfortably as Ajit Singh was a
popular figure.
