Patna,
(Bihar Times): The state government will soon open a medical college and hospital
at the pilgrim township of Pawapuri in Nalanda district. This was announced by
the chief minister, Nitish Kumar, while talking to newsmen after the function
organized to commemorate the 2,533 years of Nirvana of Bhagwan Mahavir at Pawapuri
on Friday. He
said that he had instructed the Nalanda district magistrate to acquire land for
the purpose. Several farmers of the area had given their verbal consent for giving
land, the chief minister said. He disclosed that the hospital would be equipped
with latest facilities. Official
sources said that the construction of the hospital would start next year. The
chief minister also visited the Swetambar temple in Pawapuri.
