Patna, (Bihar Times): Over
80,000 lawyers of the Patna high court, Central Administrative Tribunal and different
district courts on Thursday abstained from the judicial work in protest against
the murder of the assistant public prosecutor of Begusarai district, Ram Naresh
Sharma, on the eve of Diwali on November 8. The
lawyers sought the arrest of the culprits involved in the murder, payment of Rs
25 lakh to the family members of late Ram Naresh Sharma and government job to
one member of the family. The strike badly affected works throughout the state.
The Bihar
State Bar Council and other lawyers organizations have asked the state government
to immediately give gun licence to all the lawyers who have applied for it.
