Patna, (Bihar
Times): The chief minister, Nitish Kumar, on Sunday attended the Bhoomi Puja of
a new tractor and farm equipment factory in Fatuha Industrial Area, about 30 kilometres
from Patna. Speaking
at the occasion he said that the production of tractors by International Tractors
would help boost agriculture output and bring about a Green Revolution in the
state. The chief minister urged the company to expand its activities and cater
to the growing demand of farm equipment in the state. He assured the company of
all sorts of cooperation. The
chief minister said that keeping in mind the rise in global demand of the steel
the Steel Authority of India should expand its activities and open a factory in
Bihar just like it did in Bokaro about 45 years back. He urged the Union steel
and fertilizer minister, Ram Bilas Paswan, to take initiative in this direction. The
chairman of the Solanika Group of Companies, L D Mittal, said the company which
has the market share of 13.6 per cent in the country was hopeful of increasing
its presence in the state which has low land-tractor ratio. According to him farm
mechanization would not only boost the sale of company but would also increase
the foodgrains output. He said that his firm has tied up with a leading financial
company to provide loan on easy terms. The company will produce about 100 tractors
every day.
