Patna, (Bihar Times): The Lok Janshakti Party has taken
a serious view of what it called the Nitish Kumar
government’s attempt to divide the Dalits and create
friction among them.
Commenting on the recommendations made by the Maha
Dalit Commission, which submitted its interim report
on Tuesday the LJP leader, Pashupati Kumar Paras, said
that the Commission had excluded Chamars, Paswans,
Dhobis and Pasis from the list of the Maha Dalit
because they have not been voting Nitish Kumar.
He accused the chief minister of not only dividing the
Dalits but also indulging in an unconstitutional act
as no where in the country has such categorization of
Dalits been made.
He accused Nitish of ignoring the interest of Dalits
and charged that never in the 60 years of the state
history so little representation has been given to the
Dalits in the state cabinet. “There are only two
Dalits in 28 member cabinet. This speaks of his
concern for the Dalit,” Paras said.
