Patna, (Bihar Times): May sound strange nevertheless
true. The building and land housing the Rohtas
collectorate was on Thursday auctioned on the order of
the local court.
According to reports notwithstanding the local court’s
order given last year to the government no
compensation was paid to Ramashish Singh, whose land
was acquired by the administration in 1974. The land
was actually acquired to construct Agriculture
Marketing Yard in Sasaram. But later the collectorate
came up on this land.
The government acquired 3.95 acres of land. On
Thursday it was auctioned for Rs 56,78,940. Ramashish
Singh was the highest bidder. Later he said that he
would adopt legal methods to take legal possession of
the property if the administration fails to vacate it
soon.
