Patna, (Bihar Times): Railway
minister Lalu Prasad on Sunday suspended two engineers and a khalasi of Mughalsarai
railway station following complaint from the passengers of Dehra Dun-Howrah DP
Special Express that there was no water in their compartments. It
all happened at Patna railway station where the railway minister had gone to catch
MR Special Train for Darbhanga. On seeing him the passengers of the Dehra Dun
Express, which arrived at that point of time, raised slogans. They were busy colleting
water from platform. Lalu inquired from them the reason for their anger. When
he heard of the complaints he became furious and ordered immediate action against
those responsible. Not
only that the railway minister served show-cause notices to all the railway station
through which the train passed. The divisional railway managers of Muradabad,
Lucknow, Allahabad and Mughalsarai have also been asked to explain as to why no
water was filled in the train despite train passing several watering stations. According
to the chief public relation officer of the East Central Railway, A K Chandra,
the railway minister asked the DRMs to fix responsibility and initiate action.
