Patna, (Bihar Times): The
state administration on Wednesday filed cases against at least 15 Rashtriya Janata
Dal leaders and workers for violating the use of loudspeakers after 10 pm on
the eve of October 28 Chetawani Rally. Some of them are Union ministers and MLAs. Prominent
among whom the case has been lodged are Union ministers, Akhilesh Prasad Singh,
and Kanti Singh, former minister in the state cabinet, Ram Chandra Purve,
Shakeel Ahmed Khan, Shyam Rajak; Azad Gandhi, Nawal Kishore Yadav and Lal Das
Rai (MLCs), Sadhu Yadav (MP), and Samrat Chaudhary. According
to the home secretary, Afzal Amanullah, cases have been filed in the respective
police stations. On
the other hand the RJD leader, Shyam Rajak, termed the administrative action
as another act of political vendetta. He said that the Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders
met the district magistrate and sought his permission for the use of loudspeakers
after 10 PM. The district magistrate, even gave, verbal order to them to
use loudspeakers, he claimed. The
irony is that the administrative action came only a week after the gross misuse
of loudspeakers throughout the state during Durga Puja, where in spite of
complaint no action had been taken against anyone.
