Patna, (Bihar Times): Classes in the International
Nalanda University, a brain child of the former
President, Dr A P J Abdul Kalam, will start from the
year 2009.This was announced by the chief minister,
Nitish Kumar, after his one-hour long meeting with Mr
Kalam, who also happens to be the Visitor of Rs 700
crore INU.
Mr Kalam will be visiting Rajgir, Nalanda and Bodh
Gaya and Patna during his two day visit to the state
on February 8 and 9.
Kalam would hold talks with academics, intellectuals
and bureaucrats to finalise the academic content of
the courses to be taught in the INU.
Comments...
I think this would be biggest initiative apart from current industrial developments taking place. If you build a institution who can build further intellectual capital then it can be better than several industries. Bihar needs it badly. I urge Nithish ji to please make this university a top priority. There is no doubt that this initiative would take Nalanda and Bihar miles away from others under the guidance of Kalam Saab. Wish you all the luck!
