Doha-Qatar (Bihar Times)The Indian Association for Bihar and Jharkhand (IABJ), a socio-cultural organisation of eastern India states, has released an information booklet on Bihar & Jharkhand.
The booklet contains a map, information on state and central government projects in Bihar and Jharkhand, important telephone and fax numbers of district headquarters and details of local officials of IABJ. The booklet is prepared by Aurenzeeb Khan.
Hassan Chougule, president Indian Culture Centre, was the chief guest at the function. Azeem Abbas of Sulaiman Jewellry and Watches, was the guest of honour.
Abdul Hai, president of Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association, presided over the function at Maza Restaurant. Ashraf Hussain compered the programme.
The Program was started by recitation of Holy Quran by Rashid Jamal.
Ashfaq Alam Khan welcomed the guests, and Farooque Ahmed introduced the guests. Mirza Hamid Ali also spoke. Khursheed Khan proposed a vote of thanks.
Shakil Ahmed Kakvi briefed the audience about the association and said: “Bihar is the first state in India where Urdu was recognised as an official language”.
IABJ would organise a programme to promote Urdu in association with other organisations working in same field in Qatar, he said. Chougule assured all support to the association, and Abbas and Hai congratulated IABJ for the booklet.
