Patna, (Bihar Times): Sensing the severity of the situation, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday announced a judicial probe into the killing of four persons in police firing in Kahalgaon town of Bhagalpur district. All the deceased were agitating against the erratic supply of power from local NTPC power station to their areas.
Late evening sources in the Chief Minister’s secretariat told Bihar Times that the chief minister has ordered the suspension of deputy superintendent of police B N Jha and sub-divisional officer S N Srivastava for dereliction of duty. Chief Minister has also asked the power minister, Bijendra Yadav, to personally monitor the power distribution in the state.
Earlier late in the evening, a delegation of some senior leaders of RJD called on Governor R S Gavai seeking a judicial probe into the police firing.
