| Patna, (Bihar Times): The news is that the deputy chief
minister Sushil Kumar Modi arrived in Delhi on Friday
evening. Rumour is that he has been summoned to Delhi
by the party’s central leadership. However, sources
close to Modi said that he had gone to Delhi for
medical examination of the sprained ankle.
Whatever be the reason for his Delhi’s trip
speculation is rife that the central leadership may
take some decision on the bitter infighting within the
party following the last week cabint reshuffle. Modi’s
‘summon’ followed the meeting held between Rajnath
Singh and one of the dropped ministers, Janardhan
Singh Sigriwal.
Paarty sources said that it was none else but Rajnath
Singh who has called Modi to discuss the rebellion in
the state BJP. The BJP, which is a cadre-based party
believing in strict discipline, never witnessed such
rowdyism by supporters of different factions. The
number of dissidents are definitely swelling and more
and more MLAs are joining the rebel camp.
Meanwhile, Ashwini Kumar Choubey, one of the BJP
ministers shifted from Urban Development Department to
PHED, said in Bhagalpur on Friday that he did not mind
being shifted to different deparment. What hurt him
most was the manner in which the whole exercise was
undertaken, he told newsmen. It needs to be mentioned
that he represents Bhagalpur in the state assembly and
his son is going to be married on April 20. He is yet
to take over the new portfolio.
Political observers are of the view that though the
anger of some of the ministers, dropped ministers and
MLAs are apparently against the deputy chief minister
Sushil Kumar Modi the truth is that many of them are
furious over their mistreatment at the hands of the
chief minister. “After all Nitish Kumar is the overall
boss. He had forced his will on the BJP on a number of
occasions. Why he failed to convince the BJP that he
can not drop performing minister like Chandra Mohan
Rai,” one of the leaders asked.
