Patna, April 22 :A retired chief engineer of the state irrigation department was found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Bihar capital, police said Tuesday.
Vinayak Thakur, in his early 60s, was found dead Monday night outside his house in Nageshwar colony, a middle class locality. His body bore stab injuries.
"His body was found lying in a pool of blood by a passer-by," a police official said.
"Police will look into the case from all angles whether it was a murder or an accident," said Abhay Narain Singh, officer in charge of Kotwali police station.
Thakur reportedly owned several properties and had a large bank deposit.
