Patna, (Bihar Times): Within a week of Monazir Hassan’s
resignation another vice president of the state Janata
Dal (United), Ajit Kumar, quit from his post. However,
very much like Monazir he is still in the party.
Though he did not elaborate the reason for his
resignation yet he said that since he wants to work
among the masses it is not possible to do so by
holding such an important post.
It needs to be mentioned that a day after sacking
eight Janata Dal United ministers from his cabinet on
April 13 the chief minister, Nitish Kumar,
accommodated all of them in party organization. They
all were made state Vice Presidents. But first Monazir
Hassan and now Ajit Kumar resigned. Monazir not only
quit but a large number of his supporters even sat on
dharna near Income Tax Roundabout in Patna on April 23
to protest against his dismissal. His supporters
directly held the chief minister responsible for his
sacking.
Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi,
who is battling for his post within the BJP met the
prime ministerial candidate of the NDA, Lal Krishna
Advani, late on Friday afternoon to explain his
position.
