New Delhi, April 29 : Bhojpuri and Rajasthani languages have more to wait before their inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the constitution, the Lok Sabha was informed Tuesday.
"The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has to conduct examinations in all the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the constitution. Since UPSC is not yet ready to conduct the exams in Bhojpuri and Rajasthani , the decision to give them official language (status) has been deferred," said Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal.
Jaiswal informed the house that a calling attention motion had been moved by Prabhunath Singh Janata Dal (United) M P from Bihar during the budget session to demand the inclusion of these two languages in the Eighth Schedule.
