Patna, (Bihar Times): As the lawyers of Patna High
Court and various civil courts on Wednesday decided to
continue their strike indefinitely until their demands
were met a group of lawyers blocked the busy Bailey
Road throwing the traffic out of gear.
Wednesday was the last day of the three-day strike by
the High Court while the Patna civil court has been on
strike for last about three weeks.
The decision came after a meeting of all the three Bar
associations in the High Court premises. They decided
to continue their strike till the state government
revoked its decision of hiking the court fees.
However, on Monday the state government categorically
refused to yield to the lawyers demand. The agitation
has brought to complete halt the judicial functioning
all over the state.
The lawyers’ bodies said that the future course of
action would be decided at a meeting of the
representatives of 122 Bar councils in the state on
April 7.
On the other hand Bihar Yuva Adhiwakta Kalyan Samiti
members blocked the Bailey road near the High Court
disrupting movement of vehicles. School children faced
a lot of trouble as their buses got stranded for quite
some time.
