Patna, (Bihar Times): The state government on Thursday
constituted a Group of Ministers (GoMs) to look into
the recent hike in court fees. This was announced by
the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the State
Legislative Council.
The committee will be headed by the Deputy Chief
Minister Sushil Kumar Modi. Nitish said the committee
would look into the objections raised by different
associations of the lawyers on the issue of hike.
After receiving the suggestions of the committee, the
state government would take a final decision on the
hike in court fees, he said.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ramashray Prasad Singh,
Road Construction Minister Nand Kishore Yadav, Energy
Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Human Resources
Development Minister Brishen Patel and Excise Minister
Sudha Srivastav would be other members of the
committee.
However, the lawyers all over the state took to street
for the second consecutive day on Thursday. In Patna
they again blocked the Bailey Road throwing the
traffic out of gear. The lawyers are upset with the
state government’s stand. One of the leaders told
mediapersons that when they went to meet the chief
minister to put their demands one of his ministerial
colleagues in the presence of Nitish Kumar cut in to
say that there will be no reduction in court fees.
