| Patna, Feb 6 : Bihar is the best place to invest in agriculture and horticulture -based industries, said Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) president and Bharti group chairman and managing director Sunil Bharti Mittal here Wednesday.
"I can say that Bihar is the best place for agriculture and horticulture based industries, there is plenty of potential for investment in this sector," Mittal said.
Mittal, leading a high-powered CII delegation of Eastern India at an interactive session with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, said that investments in agriculture and horticulture could change the face of the state. He hinted that his group plans to make substantial investment in the food processing and agro-based industries as both had huge growth potential in the state.
CII had conducted a detailed survey on the prospects of satisfactory industrial growth in Bihar keeping in mind its "image", particularly in terms of law and order, corruption and the availability of basic infrastructure, he said.
Mittal assured Nitish Kumar of CII's "special initiatives" to woo top private industrial firms to the state following the "gross improvement of its overall image and satisfactory growth in infrastructure".
Last year, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani during a visit here had shown keen interest to invest in the state.
