Patna, (Bihar Times): The Centre has sought report from
the state government on controversial Janata Dal
(United) MLA, Anant Singh, against whom a number of
criminal cases have been pending in different courts
of the state.

According to reports the state home department has now
asked the Inspector General of Police (Patna Zone),
Rajvardhan Shama, to furnish details of Anant Singh’s
criminal activities and about the status of criminal
cases pending against him.
Anant’s name repeatedly shot into notoriety recently:
first after the attack on journalists following the
recovery of a decomposed body of a woman on October 31
last and than a broad-day light murder of Sanjay
Singh, a contractor just outside a government office
in Patna.
Last week a Patna-based Hindi daily prominently
front-paged a news stating that Anant may be arrested
but since then nothing happened. Now that the Centre
has sought report it is to be seen as to how the state
government actually deals with this MLA from Mokamah.
Newspaper reports suggest that the Centre is in the
possession of the CD showing Anant Singh and his men
dancing with AK-47 rifle. Though this photo was shown
on a couple of private television channels the state
government took no action against him.
comments...
It is high time ManMohan Singh should take control of his government and his ministers. They are more interested to know how state deals with Anant Singh. Shame on them. They should have spent some time asking how state government deals with Naxal problem, general law and order problem, education etc. They should have asked another report where some political leaders and journalists were involved to plan a conspiracy to falsely implicate Anant Singh. I am really surprised to see the functioning of Central government. Our ministers from Bihar should have put pressure on centre to ask similar report from Maharashtra government to find out how they are dealing with anti social elments like Raj and other Gunda's. They should have sought other report what Maharashtra government doing to protect life's of Biharis in Maharashtra. They are not bothered about masses.
