AICTE nods for four engineering colleges

Patna, (Bihar Times): The All India Council of Technical Education has approved the opening of four engineering colleges in Bihar in the next academic session.

Three of them will be run by the government while the fourth one will be a private institution. Fifty per cent seat in this private engineering college will be filled by candidates clearing Combined Entrance Competition while the rest 50 per cent will be under the control of college management.

To ensure admission of students in these colleges the department of science and technology has contacted the Council of Bihar Combined Entrance Competition Examination.

The state government has also decided to turn the three closed private engineering colleges at Gaya, Darbhanga and Motihari, into public institutions. In all 720 students will be selected for these three colleges––60 for each of the four faculties. They are electrical and electronics, computer science, mechanical and telecommunications.
