Patna,(Bihar Times): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on
Friday hoped that Bihar was on the verge of becoming a
leading software manufacturing state of India and
might leave many states behind in the next few years
as the prices of software manufacture in Karnataka,
Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh are going
up.

Inaugurating the 48 Software Technology Park of the
country in New Government Polytechnic in Patliputra
Colony the chief minister, who also holds the
portfolio of Information Technology said that all
major IT players were initiating cost-cut measures to
remain globally competitive. The Software Technology
Park is the joint Centre-state government venture.
The minister of state for communication, Shakeel
Ahmed, while speaking on the occasion said that India
had already become an IT superpower. To substantiate
his claim he said that last year India exported IT
software worth $ 36 billion. He said that in the time
to come more and more jobs were going to be created in
this sector.
The Software Technology Park, the first of its kind in
Bihar, came up in 18 months and on the very first day
on Friday 11 entrepreneurs registered for doing
business with it.
