She has personal reason to be indebted to him too.
After all Rabri’s sasural (in-laws place) and maika
(her parent’s place) are now on the rail-map of the
country. Sarai Kalan is Rabri’s village but the train
will originate from and terminate in Phulwaria, the
railway minister’s native place. These two villages
of Gopalganj district of north-west Bihar are only a
couple of kilometres away from each other. The
proposed passenger train from Phulwaria will travel
upto Hajipur.
But this is not the only gift for Bihar. There will be
a weekly train from capital Patna to Vasco da Gama in
Goa. This train will run on the newly-laid Konkan
railway tracks along the western coast of India.
However, Gaya, the place where Gautam Buddha got
enlightened, seems to be the biggest beneficiary. It
will be connected with Kamakhya, a Hindu pilgrim
centre in Assam, by a weekly Express train. Besides, a
weekly Express train will link Chennai to Gaya.
Apart from this Mathura-Lucknow Express will be
extended to Patna. The frequency of Amritsar-Saharsa
(Bihar) Garib Rath has been increased from bi-weekly
to thrice a week. The railway minister proposed to
make tri-weekly Varanasi-Rajgir Bhudh Purnima Express
a daily train.
The minister said the railways has decided to run
special trains to facilitate pilgrims from Anandpur
Sahib in Punjab and Patna Sahib to Nanded’s Gurdwara
Sachkahnd Sahib, where the tercentenary celebrations
of Guru Granth Sahib Gurta Gaddi is being held this
year. All three places are associated with the tenth
Sikh guru Gobind Singh.
Jainagar on the border with Nepal will now have a
bi-weekly Garib Rath to Delhi via Patna. Jogbani,
other town near the border of Nepal will now have a
weekly Link Express to Delhi.
Other new trains to be introducted are Darbhanga-Puri
weekly Express, Muzaffarpur-Surat tri-weekly Express
(via Azamgarh), Chapra-Mathura weekly Express and
Jainagar-Saharsa tri-weekly Janki Express. The
Patna-Malda tri-weekly will run via Bhagalpur while
Bhagalpur-Ranchi tri-weekly will run via Kiul.
