Patna, (Bihar Times): The outgoing Bihar governor, R S Gavai, broke down while speaking at the function of the Mukhiya Mantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana on Thursday.

“I will never forget Bihar”, he said. He was all praise for the love and affection shown by the people of Bihar. He thanked the chief minister and deputy chief minister for giving him the opportunity to inaugurate this programme just 48 hours before his scheduled departure for Kerala. He will be leaving for Kerala on July 5 morning.

Gavai’s love for Bihar is in total contrast to the venomous anti-Bihari outburst of Raj and Bal Thackeray. Even at the height of the anti-North India campaign in February the outgoing governor, who is originally from Maharashtra, made it clear that he was a Bihari. So it was natural for him to leave the state with a heavy heart.

He eulogized the efforts made by Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi for having introduced such an ambitious programme for the girls living below the poverty line.

Under the Yojana the new born girl of the BPL family of the state would be participating in the equity through mutual fund. The government will invest Rs 2,000 in the name of every new born baby under the Children Carrier Balanced Fund of the UTI Mutual Fund. After attaining the age of 18 the girl would be getting Rs 24,751.

I can imagine the moment of ‘Vidai Samaroh’ (Farewell Ceremony) of Mr. Gavai. Alas! I would be there. In our province there is tradition of singing Samdoun (a local melodious song, sung on the occasion of farewell) which is so heart touching and impressive that even Rama had swept at the time of departure from Mithila.

I appreciate and deeply agreed with the comments given by Mr. Mohammad Yasar Imran, from Muskat, Oman which shows how hopeful we are for new Bihar under the visionary and Chanakya like Leader Nitish Kumar which is our icon now. As he rightly told that we don’t remember any other Governor except one or other for the case he quoted.

Other than quoted Governors, I also remember Mr. Buta Singh for his all wrongdoing. Sir, I belong to Mithilanchal and there is a saying goes like this in our Maithili Language that “Kukarmiye Naam ki Sukarmiye Naam”. It means you become notorious or famous by your bad or good deeds.

I request to Mr. Ajay Kumar, Editor of Bihar Times that whatever article or comments you put on Bihartimes, do give the mail ID also in all cases of writer so that we can communicate with each other also for the better sake of Bihar.  Generally it is given but in some cases it is lacking.

After reading on Bihar Times.com, I too wept as Hon'ble Governor of Bihar Shri R S Gavai was leaving the state before he could complete his entire work. I would say sir "Your Job is Incomplete", before you were given transfer order to Kerala. The amount of affection and love showered by you towards people of Bihar State is exemplary and remarkable. You have changed the life of those wanted to learn, study, teach himself and above-all, the environment created by your goodself's offices is certainly a matter of pride to all of us. I do not remember any other Governor of Bihar had done anything in the past during his tenure.

I re-call Mrs. Rabri Devi had called, "Tang Thod Doongi" to the then Governor of Bihar, late S. S. Bhandari (if I correctly recall the exact name), appointed by NDA government. My stress is that whatever difference you may have, you should not use such a languages against Raj Bhavan, as was issued openly by Shrimati Rabri Devi.  This is the difference between a learned person like Nitish Kumar and illiterate lady like Mrs. Rabri Devi.  It was really a saddest moment and grief to see Nitish Babu wept during much awaited inauguration of Mukhiya Mantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana. It was an unprecedented moment in my life to see when both Governor and Chief Minister could not control his emotions, as Nitish Babu worked too closely for two years with Shri Gavai and State's progress is visible everywhere. There is no question about it and crime control measures and speedy trials are now giving fruitful results.

With regard to Mukhiya Mantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana, this was applauded by Shri Gavai and will certainly change the life of BPL girls. I wish all will sincerely work and implement the scheme. My best wishes to Nitish Babu and outgoing Governor of Bihar Shri Gavai, please do visit our state and see the progress on regular interval.
